About Me
My name is Cemre Beyza Yağız. I’m a London-based animation director and illustrator with a background in graphic design. I recently graduated from the Royal College of Art with a Masters in Animation.
In my animation practice, I like exploring analogue methods such as cel, cut-out, paint-on-glass on a multiplane, as well as 2D frame-by-frame animation. My work often engages with themes of childhood, memory and culture. I explore personal subjects within collective situations while wandering in the space between narrative and non-narrative / fiction and documentary.

Inspired by the idea that medium is the message, I often let the material guide me and take control of the process. Chance is a very important element, creating space for unexpected outcomes and discoveries within my work.
